In 1919, turning point, the Woltner family acquired The Mission. Finally, in 1983, the Dillon family, already owner of the neighboring Château Haut-Brion, bought the estate. In 2008, Prince Robert of Luxembourg, grandson of Douglas Dillon, former ambassador of the United States in France and former Secretary of the Treasury of President J.-F. Kennedy, becomes President of the Estate, which Jean-Philippe Delmas assures management. Since its acquisition, the Dillon family has dedicated passion and energy to pursue the business venture for nearly five centuries. In 2007, after several years of work, new cellars, a tasting room, a bottling center and a storage center were inaugurated. The vineyard, which occupies 25.6 ha, is located in Talence at the exit of Bordeaux, opposite Haut-Brion. The soil is gravelly with clay-limestone subsoil.
